Aculab Cloud and BLI Messaging case study – a match made in the cloud

BLI Messaging is a pretty interesting company. They’ve been in the outbound messaging business over 20 years, and have a lot of history working with Aculab’s Prosody X cards. Just like Aculab, they know legacy, so there’s a very familiar frame of reference for anyone who remembers rotary dial, touchtone and dialup. Aculab Cloud – TaaS and Re-inventing Your Business

Aculab Cloud is a great example of how a legacy vendor is re-inventing themselves, much in the way they’re trying to help their customers do the same as they migrate from TDM to IP. Aculab has plenty of company among vendors trying to position themselves for the next curve, with Mitel and Cisco coming to mind right away. I’m not going to dwell on those here, but Cisco has taken a leadership role in using their own collaboration tools to change the way they operate as an organization, which I think is great way to show proof-of-concept. In Mitel’s case, they have bet heavily on virtualization, which I think is the right path, but it’s too early to tell how effectively it differentiates them from the competition. Continue reading

Aculab Cloud : Complete Telephony System on Cloud

Aculab, one of the leading CTI manufacturers in the world, too joined “Voice in Cloud” a year back and recently it has come out with new version too. I had a chance to speak to Faye McClenahan, Head of Strategic Marketing, Aculab about AculabCloud and how it is different from its peers!

While normal Cloud IVR providers tend to provide ‘voice to web applications’, AculabCloud promises to allow users to develop and deploy complete Telephony Applications rapidly using high level languages! Presently it supports Python and Microsoft .NET Technologies like C# etc. A complete telephony applications on cloud seems to be first of its kind from a CTI manufacturers. Continue reading
